Drivano is a flat-fee staffing platform that connects HGV drivers directly with haulage companies. Instead of taking a commission on every hour like an agency, we offer monthly plans for regular cover and PAYG for occasional cover — so drivers keep the full rate and hauliers get predictable costs.
Agencies profit by marking up every hour. Drivano charges a flat fee and gives you direct access to verified drivers, built-in compliance tracking, digital timesheets, messaging, and streamlined payouts via Stripe Connect.
No. Plans are month-to-month. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel anytime. If we don't deliver value, you shouldn't be locked in.
Pricing & Plans
You can choose a monthly plan based on expected shift volume, or use PAYG for occasional cover. Your platform fee doesn't change based on hours worked, so budgeting stays predictable and you avoid percentage-based markups.
You'll be warned as you approach your limit. In the tiny private beta, Drivano will work with you directly to move you onto the right plan or usage setup before you hit disruption.
Yes. Contact Drivano support and we'll adjust your account to the right setup for your shift volume.
No. Drivers never pay fees, commission, or subscriptions. They receive 100% of the posted rate.
Compliance & Contractor Structure
No. Drivers operate as independent contractors and are engaged directly by the haulier. Drivano provides workflows and templates designed to support contractor-style engagement, plus verification and tracking tools.
Drivers upload key documents during onboarding. Verification gates access to shifts, and expiry reminders help keep documents current for both drivers and hauliers.
It's a key contractor working practice where a driver can propose a qualified substitute if they can't attend. You control approval based on requirements and suitability.
No - most Drivano drivers are self-employed sole traders, which typically avoids the off-payroll (IR35) paperwork that comes with Ltd/PSC engagements. We can still support Ltd/PSC drivers where required.
Sole trader supply usually means you're not dealing with SDS paperwork for that engagement. The real risk is always the same: does the engagement operate like genuine self-employment? That's exactly why Drivano standardises the working practices and evidence: B2B terms, practical substitution, and an audit trail per assignment. It's designed to reduce employment-status exposure - and make your process easy to evidence.
If off-payroll rules apply to you, you'll need to issue an SDS. Drivano makes that painless by providing a status evidence pack per assignment (signed terms, assignment details, substitution records and engagement logs) so your determination is consistent and defendable.
You'll have an assignment-by-assignment record: contract terms + assignment details + substitution activity + engagement logs. In other words: evidence of what actually happened, not vague assurances.
Agencies often leave you with mixed paperwork and inconsistent working practices. Drivano standardises the engagement terms and keeps the evidence trail in one place - less ambiguity, fewer surprises, easier compliance.
For Employers
From your dashboard, click "Create Shift", set date/time, location, licence class, requirements, and rate. The shift goes live and matching drivers are notified.
Drivers submit timesheets digitally. You approve or reject them in the dashboard, then start payroll when you are ready to pay approved work.
Approve timesheets, then fund one batch payment run. Stripe Connect handles payouts to drivers so you're not manually processing dozens of transfers.
Yes. Invite team members and set roles (admin, ops, finance, read-only). Team access is included in eligible plans — no per-seat pricing.
For Drivers
Choose "I am a Driver", create your account, upload your licence/docs, add bank details, and set availability. Onboarding typically takes a few minutes.
After your shift, submit your timesheet. Once approved, payouts are processed through the platform. Bank timings can vary.
Yes. If you can't attend, you can propose a substitute from the platform. The haulier approves/rejects based on requirements.
